Atlanta Family Therapist
Atlanta Family Therapist – Dr. David Karol Gore, An Atlanta Family Therapist
When I went to graduate school last century there were only two PhD programs in Clinical Psychology that had a Family Therapy specialty; now there are a couple hundred of them. It is unusual to find someone who is both a Family Therapist and a Clinical Psychologist. I have been working with families since 1983, and my family therapy skills are pretty sharp. They are actually like a knife. A knife with a really good blade. A knife that is finely honed… You are getting this metaphor, aren’t you?
I believe in family therapy whole-heartedly, for child issues, for marital/couple issues, for adolescent issues, and even for individual issues. When I work with adult clients I think about/work with the client’s entire family, even when it is just the client and me in the room. Families shape us, and families keep us stuck. I can get you unstuck from disruptive family patterns.
Working with whole families involves thinking differently. I know how a family works. I know how generational patterns repeat, I know how hard it is to change how people talk to each other in a family. However, when a family’s emotions shift, each person blossoms. Let me help you get unstuck and moving in a good direction.
